Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2012, $214,616)
This award completes funding for 2011-DE-BX-K002. This cooperative agreement was competitively awarded in 2011 under the Body Armor Standards Research Solicitation for a study characterizing nature of the injuries sustained during assaults on officers with knives or other cutting instruments to inform improved designs of stab-resistant and slash-resistant body armor. One of the objectives of this effort involves characterizing the differences that may be expected between the wounds suffered by male and female officers. This information will inform upgrades of the standard for the body armor worn by law enforcement and corrections officers. nca/ncf
