The proposed project will evaluate and quantify the degree of uniqueness exhibited by various anatomical structures visible in radiographs, test the accuracy and reliability of currently used methods, and determine error rates. This research will help validate skeletal comparison methods and expand the ability of forensic pathologists and anthropologists to positively identify previously unidentified remains, especially in cases of incomplete skeletal recovery.
