Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $394,000)
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is proposing to enhance and expand the capabilities of its existing Homicide and Missing Persons Cold Case Team (CCT) through the addition of additional investigators, enhanced training and the application of contracted consultant and laboratory resources. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office has approximately 62 'cold' homicides or missing person cases that date back to 1962 and are as recent as 2006. Biological evidence continues to degrade over time and the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office needs these additional resources in order to more effectively test DNA evidence.
