This award will provide Florida State University funding to develop study to examine the relationship between crime and home foreclosure in American neighborhoods. The study will provide a comprehensive assessment of the issue and provide policy makers with valuable information both about general patterns of foreclosure activity, how they vary across areas within the U.S., whether neighborhood level variation in foreclosure is associated with neighborhood patterns in crime rates, and whether this is contingent on the broader social context. Florida State University will oversee the evaluation, process documentation, and dissemination activities.
