This proposal seeks to further the impact of the Boston Police Department's (BPD) on backlogged cold case homicides and to continue the ongoing efforts of the Unsolved Case Squad (UCS) re-established in 2008. Currently there are over 1,350 unsolved homicides cold cases. NIJ funds will allow them to appreciably increase the number of unsolved cold homicide cases identified to be resolved and will improve the Department's ability to pursue cold case investigations to prosecution.
