Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $415,776)
The research seeks to provide a novel strategy for the de-convolution of body fluid mixtures through an isolation of individual cells using laser capture micro-dissection and recovery of genetic material. The cell type will be identified through RNA profiling methods and a genetic profile recovered using autosomal STR analysis. The cells comprising mixtures will be separated according to body fluid source and single source profiles obtained from each of the individual mixture contributors. ca/ncf
