Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $242,281)
The purpose of the research is to provide the fire debris analyst with a powerful chemometric method of data analysis that will facilitate the identification of GCMS patterns associated with specific ignitable liquids in the presence of high or low background contamination. A chemometric technique for the interpretation of GC-MS data will strengthen the value of the results and will reduce interpretation time and will subsequently reduce the backlog in Fire and Arson analysis.
