Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $2,670,000)
The National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center- Southeast (NLECTC-SE) will support the Office of Science and Technology research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) process supporting the adoption of new technologies for use by state and local law enforcement agencies. NLECTC-SE will assist in the identification of technology needs and operational requirements; testing, demonstrating, and evaluating new technologies emerging from the OS&T R&D cycle; and providing capacity building and technology assistance to the public safety community.
NLECTC-SE will also support the development and evaluation of new technologies for use by state and local criminal justice agencies through supporting OST RDT&E communications interoperability and information sharing technology programs.
