Through Wall Surveillance For Locating Individuals Within Buildings

This project is a continuation of the work that was performed under Time Domain's award 2006-IJ-CX-K026. It seeks to develop an improved through-the-wall surveillance system. This system can be used by law enforcement responders to resolve terrorist hostage taking situations, among other scenarios. This funding will be used to complete the following objectives: This proposal addresses the Phase 2 development and demonstration of a personnel detection sensor system using emerging ultra wideband (UWB) technology for building search operations. The proposed system is small, handheld, and can rapidly detect living persons through exterior and interior building walls and doors. The UWB Phase 2 proposed sensor will employ the Phase 1 acoustic signals for operation through metallic barriers which block RF signals. NCA/NCF
