To develop a comprehensive Suite of New Technology standards for interoperable communications network for land mobile communictions at the local, state and federal governmental levels of public safety

The grantee will continue it's role as the TIA Project 25 Steering Committee Chair. The suite of P25 Phase II standards has gained momentum to near completion. As the Chairman, Craig Jorgenson has provided valuable guidance in the committee as well as providing guidance to many P25 deployments that law enforcement officials encounter.

The applicant will continue work in developing the Project 25 land mobile radio suite of standards for law enforcement use. As the standards are ratified, manufacturers are able to build to a common platform that allows interoperability between different manufacturers' equipment. Ultimately, the goal is to reduce the cost of a land mobile radio for all law enforcement agencies.
