Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $180,000)
The goal of this project is to develop a toolkit to automate the routine public Internet queries that arise in law enforcement investigations, and manage their output by integrating query responses in an actionable report. The toolkit will centralize, automate, and systematically process publicly-available forensic query tools. The toolkit will be a user-driven application with an interface tailored to the law enforcement end-user. Features of the toolkit, the functionality of the user console, and the organization of output reports will be developed with input from a team of local law enforcement personnel.
