PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 2002-LT-BX-K009
In this project, engineering developmental work will be performed by Non-Lethal Technologies,Incorporated (NLT), on the Road Sentry device to improve its effectiveness in immobilizing commercial motor vehicles. A specific objective of this project is to modifythe design of the device so that its capability to inflict a "hard kill" in an initial encounter with any; given commercial motor vehicke will be increased to about 85%. In NIJ-sponsored
was observed to be about 44%. (a "hard kill" is produced when a vbehicle is rendered incapabvle of mouing under its own power unless electrical repair work is undertaken). This project will require NLT to undertaker engineering analyses, design, fabrication, and testing of Road Sentry devices and their component parts to ensure that this objective will be achieved.
