Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2002, $1,000,000)
This award is supplement 1 to grant 2002-LP-CX-K006 and will allow the University of Tennessee to continue to conduct the National Forensic Academy (NFA) and provide tuition subsidies for up to 28 students per year; conduct oversight of ongoing research projects previously funded; continue to seek researchers, scientists, and practitioners in the forensics field to contribute new knowledge to the NFA and NFSI curricula and programs; maintain and expand the collaborative effort among the Knoxville Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and the National Forensic Science Institute for the regional NIBIN access office in Knoxville; and to seek accreditation as a CALEA Public Safety Training Academy.
