PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 2000-LT-BX-K005
This award will be used to support the University of Maryland's Baltimore/Washington High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area's update of the Suspect Pointer Index Network (SPIN). SPIN is a case management/pointer index database used throughout the HIDTA region and in many other locations across the nation to track case information. Its fundtionality provides a useful complement to the HIDTA's "Advanced Analytical Tool for Law Enforcement" initiative.
The SPIN update will include two versions of the case management/pointer index database. The first version will be a stand-alone Microsoft Access-Based version, with a Visual Basic user-interface, that can be provided on CD to law enforcement agencies. The second version will be a network version based on Microsoft SQL Server version.
