PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 95-MU-MU-0030 (S-5)
Contra Costa County's overall goals of the project in Year 5 include the following: Provide significant interventions or specialized individual supervision and services to approximately 1,000 youth in the County and to recruit, train, and assign more than 200 voluntee adults and mentors to assist in juvenile justice programs; accomplish significant and measurable results with the youth and families with whom SafeFutures programs work (i.e., lower crime rates, better school performance and attendance, better life skills and chances, and stronger more capable families and care-givers); create staff development opportunities in order to strengthen skills and encourage retention; develop support and awareness of SafeFutures activities among the general public and key leaders while encouraging interest in increasing linkages or cooperation among community based organizations; and complete a plan for the transition of SafeFutures programs to other funding sources after the end of the grant.
