NLECTC's Justice Technology Information Center, which manages the JUSTNET website, redesigned it in 2016 to better serve criminal justice agencies by disseminating science-based knowledge and assistance on equipment characteristics, testing, and performance standards. NLECTC's Justice Innovation Center for Small, Rural, Tribal, and Border Agencies has continued to identify, evaluate, and disseminate technology solutions that meet the operational challenges of small, rural, tribal, and border law enforcement, courts, and corrections agencies. NLECTC's Criminal Justice Priority Technology Needs Initiative is conducting research that assesses and prioritizes technology needs across the criminal justice community. The goal is to enable innovation in the U.S. criminal justice community. NLECTC's National Criminal Justice Technology, Research Test, and Evaluation Center has continued to conduct focused research, testing, and evaluations of non-forensic technologies that are intended to improve the capabilities of state and local law enforcement and corrections agencies. NLECTC's Forensic Technology Center of Excellence has improved the practice of forensic science and strengthened its impact through technology corroboration, evaluation and adoption, effective knowledge transfer and education, and comprehensive dissemination of best practices and guidelines to law enforcement agencies.
