NIJ is seeking applicants for the FY 2011 Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grants Program. This program furthers the Department's mission by providing States and units of local government with tools needed to meet the challenges of crime and justice. Specifically, this program seeks to improve the quality and timeliness of forensic science and medical examiner services, including services provided by laboratories operated by States and units of local government.

In fiscal 2020, all state and local forensic capacity enhancement programs previously administered by NIJ moved to the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).
