Note: The application deadline has been extended from March 4, 2011, to April 4, 2011. In addition, NIJ has posted Frequently Asked Questions specific to this solicitation. NIJ is seeking proposals for the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) Program. This program furthers the Department's mission by responding to the need to assist State and local law enforcement, medical examiners and coroners, allied professionals, and the general public with resolving missing and unidentified persons cases. Currently in the United States, thousands of people are searching for those who are missing. NamUs was developed to provide national assistance in the search for human identification, for those living and deceased, in hopes of resolving these cases. NIJ seeks proposals from eligible candidates to partner with NIJ to administer and manage NamUs, support ongoing NamUs programs, continue National outreach efforts, provide National assistance, and oversee the forensic services provided through NamUs.
