The applicant proposes to conduct research on the range of anti-violence efforts that have been used to address violence levels in two communities: the East Durham neighborhood of Durham, NC and in the Northside (North Minneapolis) neighborhood of Minneapolis, MN.
The researcher will use existing open source data from cities for data on crime, collect data on programs implemented via snowball sample interviewing starting with the project advisory board, and gather contextual information such as legislative changes and socio-demographics in cities.
