FFY 2015 State of Tennessee Forensic Science Improvement Application

The State of Tennessee proposes to use FFY 2015 Coverdell Formula funds to support the following programs: 1) Tennessee Bureau of Investigation - Forensic Laboratory Equipment Upgrades: The TBI proposes to use funding to purchase and install hardware and support training of personnel at laboratories including the purchase of two (2) Leica M80 Stereomicroscopes with IC80 HD Microscope Camera a Forensic Comparison Microscope. Funding to send at least four (4) TBI Latent Print Examiners to attend a three or five day training event hosted by TBI at the headquarters building in Nashville, TN. and 2) Tennessee Department of Health - Office of the Chief Medical Examiner - Computerized Radiography: Funding the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will provide the Hamilton County Medical Examiner Office with the equipment necessary to upgrade their antiquated film x-ray development process to computerized radiography.
