Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2013, $357,511)
This award was competitively made in response to a proposal submitted by the Rand Corporation to a National Institute of Justice FY 2013 solicitation: Applied Technology Research and Development for Criminal Justice Purposes. In its application, the RAND Corporation, in collaboration with the Automated Regional Justice Information Sharing System in the San Diego and Imperial counties of Southern California (ARJIS), proposed to develop and test evaluation methodologies to measure the outcomes of information sharing systems on criminal justice system performance. The project will utilize data on subsets of ARJIS users from criminal justice agencies in the San Diego metropolitan area. ARJIS has more than 11,000 registered users, with more than 1,000 users in the largest participating agencies. ca/ncf
