Characterization of Stab/Slash Wounds

This cooperative agreement was competitively awarded in 2011 under the Body Armor Standards Research Solicitation for a study characterizing the nature of the injuries sustained during assaults on officers with knives or other cutting instruments to inform improved designs of stab-resistant and slash-resistant body armor. One of the objectives of this effort involves characterizing the differences that may be expected between the wounds suffered by male and female officers.
