Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $118,322)
The goal of this research project is to evaluate the use of a Raman handheld instrument as a presumptive on-site field drug test. If the research is successful, a new method of field testing, using improved technology, will enhance the ability of the forensic science community to identify, analyze and interpret controlled substance evidence.
