Research and Development on Instrumental Analysis for Forensic Science Applications

The purpose of this research is to develop a robust and useful presumptive field identification system for methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and possibly other controlled substances. If the research is successful, a new method of field testing will enhance the ability of the law enforcement community to presumptively identify controlled substances. This will enhance the administration of justice and public safety by providing law enforcement with a robust tool that gives immediate and defendable preliminary results for specific controlled substances. nca/ncf
