Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $235,146)
The Sheriffs' Association of Texas (SAT) will evaluate lower cost aviation options for law enforcement, including innovative uses of commercially available off the shelf technology for video surveillance and observation, video downlink capabilities and air to ground law enforcement communications from lower cost aviation platforms including light sport, fixed wing aircraft, powered parachutes and unmanned aerial systems. These options will provide more affordable solutions for use as force multipliers for smaller law enforcement agencies across the country.CA/NCF
