The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences (ADFS) will utilize the funds to: 1) improve the operational infrastructure and analysis capacity of the ADFS laboratory system, 2) renovate existing ADFS morgue and laboratory facilities, and 3) select training opportunities for ADFS scientific staff. ADFS is in the process of seeking National Association of Medical Examiner (NAME) accreditation for its three (3) regional morgue facilities, which are located throughout Alabama (Mobile, Montgomery and Huntsville).
