The Interactive Media Laboratory, Dartmouth Medical School has recently completed an educational program titled Sexual Assault:
Forensic and Clinical Management (SAE). Based on the National Protocol for the Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examination for Adolescents and Adults, the program is delivered via DVD-ROM and provides high quality training on-demand at any location.
This project will build on that product by fully implementating the program 'instructor mode', develop an instructor's guide, and develop a train the trainer curriculum. The applicant will also hold an advisory panel meeting and the first "train the trainer" class. This effort will assist in reducing crime laboratory DNA backlogs by improving the efficiency with which sexual assault kits are processed, by improving the skill levels of the individuals collecting the kits.
