Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $238,056)
The Western Pennsylvania High Tech Crime Training Center at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania proposes to offer a combination of face-to-face, hands-on computer forensic training supplemented with content delivered over the internet and on modules covering individual topics provided on CD/DVD. In addition, some of these modules will be available for stand alone training. The training center at Edinboro has a fully equipped 30 station computer lab dedicated to computer forensic training and has successfully trained a wide range of criminal justice personnel to investigate digital crime. This project contributes to the reduction of the crime laboratory computer crime backlog by increasing the skill and efficeincy of computer forensic analysts by providing improved and more readily available training.
