The objective of this project is to demonstrate, test and evaluate new functionalities for the NIJ-funded Project 54 communications system for state, local law and tribal enforcement agencies. Evaluating the NIJ-funded Project 54 system. The specific tasks that will be undertaken are:
* Establishment of a multi-agency testbed to demonstrate and evaluate a VPN (virtual private network) ' like component for the Project 54 system
* Demonstration and evaluation of a speech-based user interface for Project 54, whereby the patrol officer can remotely access the system via his or her police radio interfacing with the mobile data terminal in their patrol car
* Expansion of the Project 54 system outside of New Hampshire
