The Harris County Medical Examiner's Forensic Biology Laboratory has achieved remarkable increases in operating efficiency made possible by NIJ Capacity Enhancement and Backlog Reduction Grant funding as well as the generous support of Harris County in providing additional staff. In order meet future capacity requirements and to further enhance efficiency, the applicant proposes to undergo the Forensic Science Service diagnostic review process. Through this process, the applicant will implement a comprehensive improvement plan.
