Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $167,278)
This continuation proposal focuses on creating the atlas of 3-dimensional skull models obtained from the computed tomography (CT) scans during the first year of the project. The researchers will perform the automatic measurement of landmarks and cranial volumetric measurement that can be used to quantify cranial morphology. The CT data will be cross-validated with traditional methods of biological anthropology and radiography, thus serving to increase reliability and applicability. ca/ncf
