Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $1,178,085)
The goal of this project is to assist the efforts of state and local governments in performing DNA analysis on unidentified human remains and/or reference samples, and provide DNA profiles that will be uploaded into the CODIS+mito index of the FBI's National DNA Index System. Samples will be submitted by state and local agencies for analysis by Bode. The results will be reviewed by the University of North Texas Health Science Center and subsequently uploaded into the CODIS+mito database.
