Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $477,891)
Budgetary limitations, staffing shortages and competing priorities challenge law enforcement and school districts, making it nearly impossible to deliver realistic, interactive training for School Resource Officers (SROs). However first responders must always be prepared to take action to save lives. This project will examine the feasibility of using simulation software to hone specific skills required to respond appropriately to violent situations in schools.
