Support for NIJ Geospatial Technologies Portfolio

This project will be for the continuation of Center of Excellence functions for the geospatial tasks to be carried out for the FY09 year. It will consist of five tasks. The first will be to support two Technical Working Groups (TWG), and a Focus Group. The second task will be to carry out a pilot study on CrimeStat III to evaluate the efficacy of the software program to improve on the software. The third task will be to carry out a pilot of Crime Series Analysis to evaluate several methods for forecasting crime events and locations of offenders. The fourth task will be provide assistance to First Adopters for GIS for Crime Mapping. This task includes a survey of past attendees to gauge the value of the classes. The fifth task will be to test and evaluate the addition of crime data into an Urban Growth Simulator to better understand how crime patterns change as a result of urban development patterns and scenarios.
