An End-to-End, Multi-Band Cognitive Radio System for Public Safety Communications

The applicant will research cognitive radio (CR) technologies. Although this technology is just starting to be developed, in the future a CR may allow officers to use their handheld radio anywhere, automatically without manually programming (i.e. a NY officer can go to California and be able to communicate with the local PD ' which is not possible today). The applicant is leveraging previous work from DoD DARPA. ca/ncf
