Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $292,025)
This Identix project will address the evaluation and feasibility of a combined face-iris recognition system that uses a single high-resolution capture system for both modalities and does not require a dedicated iris camera or illuminator. The result of this research project will reveal the common imaging conditions for a single-imager-based iris+face recognition system. This stronger method of identification can lead to new tools and technologies for use by State and local law enforcement agencies.
