This study will examine and evaluate the application of radio frequency identification technology (RFID) in two women's prison facilities in Ohio. One facility has implemented the technology and one has not. A pre- and post- implementation evaluation will occur at the facility that has utilized RFID technology. Comparisons will be made between the two facilities on the number and rate of violent incidents that occur. The research will use face to face interviews, focus groups and official records to determine the effectiveness of this technology for reducing inmate on inmate sexual violence as well as other forms of violence and misconduct. ca/ncf
