This project will conduct a survey of technology readiness of text extraction and conversion technologies to support law enforcement needs, which makes free text data more available for link analysis. This is currently a very expensive and time-consuming process. Perform complete analysis of existing technology, including 'laboratory-only' technologies, and identify applied research directions to improve utility and decrease implementation cost of text extraction technologies for use in law enforcement ' research directions that are suitable for funding by federal, state and/or local agencies. ca/ncf
