AMBERVIEW

The West Virginia High Technology Consortium (WVHTC) Foundation will continue to coordinate a pilot program in West Virginia to digitally record and store the 3D facial and fingerprint of school age children (with parental approval). The biometric data will be stored on a secure server located at the WVHTC. This project will assemble the hardware and software to enable the immediate dissemination to proper authorities and to the public of the image of the missing child.

AmberView is an emerging technology that has been developed to enable the mass broadcast of a digital image of a missing or abducted child to law enforcement, the media, and private sectors constituents via the world wide web within minutes of an official AMBER alert. Phase III of AmberView will test and validate the various processes and programmatic procedures of Phase II while ensuring secure and efficient functionality in the state of West Virginia.
