Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $1,133,941)
The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) will develop and demonstrate a technology for firearm user authentication based upon biometric determination using grip dynamic recognition. The key objective of this development is to validate and improve the underlying software and to customize the supporting hardware for reliable and affordable integration with commercially produced firearms.
