The Chinese Connection: The Changing Patterns of Drug Trafficking in the Golden Triangle

This study will examine the changing patterns and social orgainization of cross-border drug trafficking in Southeast Asia, with a focus on the China-Burma border areas. Data will be collected through face-to-face interviews with drug enforcement authorities in China (N=80), government officials in three Southeast Asia urban centers (N=20), warlords in Burma border regions (N=30), and convicted drug traffickers in Kunming, China (n=200).
