Project summary for 2001-IJ-CX-K002 (S-1)

This project is a continuation of the World Justice Information Network (WJIN) developed under 2001-IJ-CX-K002 as a demonstration model for the international community of over 10,000 criminal justice professionals in 120 countries.

In the course of this 18-month effort Abt Associates will expand the existing WJIN membership by adding more foreign (non-US) users, with a special focus on criminal justice researchers and practitioners, maintain and expand WJIN content collections and services (search engine, news service, online translation, Web publishing, etc) and significantly improve usability and accessibility of the WJIN user interface, develop and implement methods to expand quality content through better search techniques, classification, review and quality control process, develop content analysis (text-mining) services, maintain, and expand the existing virtual library for NIJ International Center, develop a plan to support future NIJ research projects overseas, improve monthly usage reporting system and develop a transition plan for handing off the WJIN to another government agency or organization.
