Drug-facilitated sexual assault is a difficult charge to prove due to limited scietific evidence demonstrating the presence of the drug across what may be a long time frame. THis project will estimate the annual incidence rate of drug facilitated U.S.jurisdictions. Sites will include 2 southern states, two non-southern states,Chicago,and a downstate Illinois college town and volunt3er study participants will be asked to provide confidential detailed histories about the assault and their drug histories.A smaller clinical study will also be conducted as a control to measure Clonazepam retention in hair and urine. Results will be sued to establish measurement criteria for the larger study. Both studies will comply with Federal laws and regulations governing the protection of human volunteers and the use of confidential information.
