Field Test Portable Hand-Held Fingerprint and Photo Device (Remote Data Terminal 2)

Project summary for 2000-IJ-CX-K011 This award is to expand the portable hand-held digital fingerprint and photo device demonstration program at the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office by improving existing use operations beyond high-risk teams,provising access to legacy databases to augment suspect information, and add new functionality to the hand-held device. The additional units will provide feedback from a more diverse and braoder base of applications. Contact File Development - In response to requirements from Narcotics,Gangs,and Fugitive Task Forces, real time contact file accessed by fingerprint and/or name will be developed and delivered as part of this project. The deployment of this real time relational database allows a powerful extension of information for inquiries from remote locations. In addition information on previous field contacts with the individual ID will also be returned.
