PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 98-IJ-CX-K004(S-2)
The proposal is a continuation of Program activities started under the cooperative agreement between the Rule of Law Foundation and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), No. 98-IJ-CX-K004 of September 25, 1998 and supplemented on May 27, 1999 and on June 13,2000. This continuation (supplemental # 3) seeks funding for maintenance of the NIJ Internet Studio and WJIN for an additional four months, from September 1,3000 through December 31,2000. The Internet studio serves as the base of operations for a series of projects run by the Rule of Law Foundation for NIJ. These include developing and maintaining the World Justice Information Network (WJIN),providing the technical and logistical support for the U.S.-Ukraine Research Partnership Project,installing and maintaining a network of Internet Studios for Moldovan Law enforcement, and new projects including the development of training technology for the National Police Academy in Maldova. Funding is requested to ensure that the infrastructure that has been created for a global information network for criminal justice professionals is fully utilized,maintained,and further enhanced.
