PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 98-IJ-CX-0030
This second supplement to #98-IJ-CX-0030 provides the third of three years of core support to the Committee on Law and Justice of the National Academy of Sciences. The Committee will meet twice during the 12-month period under the current award. At those meetings, the Committee will hold one workshop and one seminar on topics to be chosen by the Committee in consultation with the National Institute of Justice. The workshop will consist of a one-day meeting on a selected topic where approximately four commissioned papers will be presented, followed by formal comments made by discussants and then general discussion. The seminar will consist of a half-day session where a single scholar or several, are asked to present on an emerging area of interest in criminal justice. A report will be produced as a result of the workshop. The workshop papers will be made available to the sponsor prior to the workshop and will subsequently be incorporated into the workshop report to be published by the National Academy Press.
