Project Summary for 1997-LB-VX-0004 s5

This award is supplement # 5 to grant 1997-LB-VX-0004 which aims to develop and optimize a cost-effective and integrated chip for analyzing short tandem repeats (STRs) and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in biological evidentiary samples. Previous phases of NIJ funding have resulted in a chip capable of performing amplification and detection of three STRs and six Y chromosome SNPs. This phase of the funding will allow Dr. Ron Sosnowski, as an independent contractor, to have direct technical and scientific responsibility of the award in order to expedite the project.
