PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 97-IJ-CX-K014
This project will evaluate the effectiveness of a specially ì
configured electronic monitor for use in screened and selected ì
domestic violence cases. The purpose of the study is to ì
determine the effect of this technology on preventing further ì
violence by the offenders on their victims, and the impact on the ì
courts and enforcement agencies, and on enforcement of ì
court-issued protection orders, as well as the ability of this ì
technology to deter misdemeanors from proceeding to more serious ì
involvement in the criminal justice system.
