Technology to Increase Efficiency
Some laboratories have developed online systems that allow agencies and court officers to monitor the progress of cases. These systems are designed to quickly provide needed information and minimize disruptions to analysts.
Electronic evidence submission systems, designed to streamline the submission process, are being implemented in many laboratories. These systems typically receive evidence information electronically and use a bar code to link the evidence container to the information provided.
These new technologies can streamline existing processes within agencies and laboratories, reducing operating costs and maximizing the use of analysts' time and efforts.
