FFY19 DNA Capacity Enhancement and Backlog Reduction Program

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory (MSPCL) Forensic Biology Section will utilize funds provided through this program to support the MSPCL’s continued goals to increase the capacity of the forensic biology section, reduce the casework backlog, and improve the turnaround time of forensic biology cases while maintaining compliance with national standards. The purchase of necessary equipment and supplies, the support of one temporary laboratory technician, outsourcing of forensic DNA cases, and the support of continuing education will accomplish these goals.
