This report describes the upgrades to the crime lab of the Dearborn Police Department (Michigan) achieved under a Federal grant.
Abstract
Using a grant from the Crime Lab Laboratory Improvement Program, the Dearborn Police Department implemented a digital imaging program to photograph crime scenes and process evidence. Funds were used to buy digital cameras and software, as well as train staff in-house. The move from conventional photography to digital imaging not only saved the police department significant monies but also improved the quality and manner in which the photographs were handled and stored.
